Year on year the Hotel and Catering Show proves to be the venue of choice for the catering and hospitality industry in Dorset to launch new products, innovations and initiatives. With preparations now well under way for the 2010 show (16 and 17 March), the show organisers have confirmed that to date more than 70 local businesses are set to return and exhibit following the success of this year’s event.
Leading businesses from the region signed up to attend alongside some of the industry’s most recognised and respected brands such as Unilever Foodsolutions and its brand KNORR, Nestle Professional and Addis Housewares include Country Fare, Wrights Dairies, and County Foods.
Bournemouth-based Country Fare, supplier of quality fruits, vegetables and salads as well as dry goods, dairy and breads, has re-booked exhibition space following an overwhelming success of achieving new business worth almost £40,000 during the last 12 months. Gavin Millward of Country Fare says: “Despite the current turbulent economic climate, 2009 was a particularly great year for us at the show which highlights to us that the hospitality sector is continuing to invest in high quality produce and products in order to set themselves apart from the competition and offer something more to meet customers’ changing demands. This will be our fifth year at the Hotel and Catering Show and amongst the produce we will be displaying includeslocal and seasonal produce a range of micro herbs and micro cress which are currently sought after by chefs for both the visual and the culinary diversity they bring to the plate.”
Returning to the show for the sixth year, Wrights Dairies, a family-run milk and diary product distributor established in 1918, will showcase a range of the latest Dorset, Hampshire and the West Country cheeses and provide visitors with the opportunity to sample the cheeses and a range of other dairy related products. Due to an increase in its client base, since attending the 2009 show in March Wrights Diaries has increased its fleet of delivery vehicles to 13 and expanded its delivery network in the New Forest, Southampton and Winchester.
Neil Pluck from Poole-based Wrights Diaries says: “Exhibiting at the show allows us not only to reach new business, but also gives us the opportunity to meet our customers away from the kitchen environment. The show provides a fantastic marketing opportunity for businesses in the catering and hospitality supply chain and creates a platform to exhibit products and services to potential customers.”
County Foods, a catering butchers, returns for the fourth consecutive year and has had success in attracting a range of new contracts as a result of having a presence. In 2010 County Foods will celebrate its success by increasing the size of its business premises and expanding into a further industrial unitin order to accommodate the growth rate witnessed during the last four years in terms of new contract wins, new employees and expansion in its product range.
Doron Krips from County Foods adds: “From attending the show we not only instantly gain new customers but the show also raises our profile. The show provides us with the opportunity to launch new products and at the 2010 show we will be informing visitors about our latest range of local fresh meats and delicatessen products.”
