The Print Room to host the Hotel and Catering Show Dinner Party
The annual event, in association with the Wessex Salon Culinaire, the Craft Guild of Chefs and The Bournemouth and Poole College, attracts guests from across the hospitality, catering, leisure and tourism industries and is due to feature a charity auction in aid of Hospitality Action. Hospitality Action is the benevolent organisation that offers vital employee assistance to people who work in the hospitality industry through its unique Life Support programme. The charity is supported entirely by donations and fundraising activities.
Designed by The Print Room’s head chef, Simon Trepess, the menu will feature the best local produce. Simon will be supported in the kitchen by his AA Rosette award-winning team and the whole operation will be overseen by Paul Fudge, general manager at The Print Room. Paul has welcomed students from The Bournemouth and Poole College to assist The Print Room team with the delivery of a slick service.
Top chefs in attendance this year include Ed Baines, a well-known chef regularly appearing on the BBC daytime series Step Up to the Plate as well as BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen. Now the co-owner of Soho oyster and champagne bar, Randall & Aubin, Ed has established himself as one of the hottest young chefs on the circuit today. Other leading chef guests also include Sophie Wright, who at the age of 22 has released her first cook book, Dale Osborne, head chef at the St.Alban Restaurant in London, as well as Britain’s most successful and widely admired Indian chefs, Cyrus Todiwala MBE.
The Show Dinner Party also marks the award ceremony for this year’s Wessex Salon Culinaire.
Chloe Parmiter, events manager at The Print Room, says: “We’re delighted that the south coast’s largest hospitality event selected The Print Room to host this prestigious dinner in aid of Hospitality Action. Dorset produces some of the UK's best fish, meat and vegetables and local produce will be at the top of the menu.”
Anna Wallis, show director of the Hotel and Catering Show, says: “Our Show dinners have become a highlight on the hospitality industry’s social calendar. Now in its third year, the dinner is becoming a stronger event each year attracting a host of leading chefs and representatives from the industry.”
Angela Cox, Faculty Director for Service Industries at The Bournemouth and Poole College, adds: “On top of sponsoring the Cookery Theatre at the Hotel and Catering Show, students from The College will help the team at The Print Room to deliver an exceptional evening at the Show’s Dinner Party. There will be 19 2nd year students from the Diploma in Professional Catering course involved in the dinner. Four will assist in the kitchen under the direction of chef tutor Christophe Baffos with 15 in the restaurant under the direction of Dan Spraggs restaurant tutor and Sarah Gault bar supervisor.”
