Bournemouth Hotel and Catering Show to offer all the right ingredients for 2009

Hundreds of exhibitors, celebrity chefs, the UK’s largest Salon Culinaire and a new innovative show website, are just some of the key ingredients contributing to what is set to be another successful Bournemouth Hotel and Catering Show. Taking place on Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th March 2009, the annual two-day show organised by the CEM Group, will see top hoteliers, restaurateurs, chefs and caterers descend upon the Bournemouth International Centre to sample a variety of high quality products, meet with producers and suppliers and learn about the latest developments in the hospitality industry.

Recognised as the south coast’s largest hospitality event, the Hotel and Catering Show has consistently undergone developments to stay abreast of changes within the industry since it was established more than 50 years ago. In preparation for 2009, the show’s website will be the latest feature to be developed and transformed, creating an interactive online forum and community for everyone from hotel managers to chefs and students competing in the renowned Wessex Salon Culinaire.

For the first time ever the show will feature a series of Ask the Expert Workshops throughout the two-day event. These workshops will provide a forum in which visitors can talk to industry experts and discuss with each other specific aspects of the hospitality industry.

The show will once again stage the best known and most respected cheffing competition in the UK, the Wessex Salon Culinaire. Sponsored by NestlĂ© Professional® CHEF®, Coastline Produce and Bournemouth and Poole College, the Wessex Salon Culinaire will be the UK’s largest culinary challenge in 2009.

Also returning to the show in 2009 will be the popular Celebrity Cookery Theatre. Sponsored by Unilever, KNORR and Bournemouth and Poole College, the theatre will witness exciting demonstrations from some of the UK’s leading chefs, using products sourced locally from Dorset.

CEM Group and Hotel and Catering Show director, Anna Wallis, says: “Last year’s show was an overwhelming success, establishing the event as one of the premier dates in the hospitality industry calendar. The 2009 show will boast the latest products, services, food and drink, tasting opportunities and inspirational ideas from some of the industry’s leading chefs and experts. With the return of many popular features this year and the introduction of Ask the Expert Workshops, we are confident that the 2009 show is set to be a huge success.”

As a result of the continued success of the Hotel and Catering Show, organisers, the CEM Group, are working towards the first ever Weymouth and Portland Catering Show, which is to take place on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd October 2008 at the Portland Spa Conference and Banqueting Centre. The inaugural show has more than 75 exhibitors attending and is set to attract thousands of visitors who will be able to meet key suppliers, compare and negotiate the best deals as well as source a host of the latest products and services.
